Nico Perez will be EBE11 talking about the future of Internet radio and music and his experience as cofounder of  Mixcloud. Nico will be on Saturday from 16:30 to 17:00 at the Paralel II.

Nico Perez will talking about the future of Internet music and radio. With the growing number of cloud based services, including Apple’s iCloud, the next few years will see an explosive growth in the number of people listening to music and radio over IP.

The talk will cover: how to make your website more social, democratic and personal (using examples from Mixcloud and around the web), business model challenges and multi-channel / platform challenges.

Atending EBE11 will be David Verbustel, he will talk about the early steps of a native European entrepreneur and his extensive experience as business project developer. David will be on Saturday from 17:00 to 17:30 at the Paralel II.

David @davidv always imagined entrepreneurs like heroes : filled with passion and perseverance like no one else on earth, continually looking to create value to the society, increasing wellness and leading the path to a brighter future. Startups are an act of faith, they are driven by the passion of the entrepreneur. However deep their faith in their vision is, it can lead to a deadly outcome by missing some key facts in the earliest days of their entrepreneurial journey. Their decision-making process is altered by the business culture of European life versus American life and a lack of understanding in the search for a business model.

Entrepreneurs

He will explain to us in #EBE11 that there are 2 categories of entrepreneurs. A minority of entrepreneurs are born crazy and understand that there is no such thing as an overnight success but they have the guts to undertake whatever it takes to get their startup off the ground. And after years of hard work and perseverance it might look like an overnight success. But the other and major category of entrepreneurs are made along the way.

Atending EBE11 will be  Jared Hecht, co-founder of GroupMe, one of the most successful startups involving worldwide mobile communications. Jared Hecht, will be on Saturday from 12:00 to 13:00 hours at the main stage. The last half hour we will interview him.

Since our first EBE we have invited founders of the most successful startups. These companies’ products and services are now used by millions of people globally. Matt Mullenweg (WordPress), Biz Stone (Twitter), Bret Taylor (Friendfeed), David Karp (Tumblr), among others, have been presented in first person the know-how that has led them to succeed.

The explosion of social media has given every individual a voice through blogs, Twitter, Facebook and more. But this noisiness is subjecting us to broadcast-overload, as well as increasing privacy concerns. People are becoming much more aware of their personal social media boundaries and many are starting to appreciate social interactions in more intimate settings. To address this, GroupMe has taken advantage of the personal nature of mobile phones and offers a way to create private social networks, allowing users to easily interact with the important people in their lives.

GroupMe’s Jared Hecht will share his view on what GroupMe’s private, mobile social networks do for users, developers, marketers and retailers. He will share how it fits into larger trends as social-planning goes mobile, purchasing becomes more social and decision-making is focused on local.

Sports

To exercise the body as well as the mind you will be able to ice skate in an ecological ice rink that will be in the venue of EBE11, totally free, thanks to the collaboration of the Sevillian company Xtraice and you don’t need to bring skates, just let us know if you have an extra shoe size.

Moreover on Saturday morning we will hold an athletics (#carreraEBE) and football (@copacaballo) competition.

Ruta de la tapa

We also suggest a ‘ruta de la tapa’ (a tapas route) throughout the local tapas bars where you will enjoy typical tapas from the South of Spain with special discounts for EBE attendees. To finish your busy day we recommend you to assist a flamenco show.

#EBE11 is now accepting speaker applications! The deadline for speakers proposals is the 15th of October. EBE is the largest social web meeting in Spain and the second largest in Europe based on attendance.

We’d like to invite you to submit a session proposal for a presentation at the #EBE11 in Sevilla, Spain, this November 11-13.
More than 30 conference sessions, some of them in English, are planned for #EBE11, and you can be one of our speakers.

EBE is the social web meeting par excellence in Spain. #EBE11 will provide a uniquely collaborative environment for an exclusive audience of internet lovers who represent an important part of the sector which is particularly relevant and useful for enterprises.

This year’s theme is ‘EBE11: beyond the web’. In #EBE11 we will talk about the web, blogs, social media and other sectors with technological innovations that affect one’s daily life.

Suggested content areas include:

• The Facebook era: commerce, games…
• Browser vs. Closed environment.
• Mobile phones, so what’s next?: a new generation of applications, higher level of privacy…
• Freedoms in danger: civil law, intellectual property rights…

How to get to #EBE11? #EBE11 will take place 11 – 13, November 2011 at Pabellón del Futuro, Isla de la Cartuja, Camino de los Descubrimientos St., Sevilla. Pabellón del Futuro is one of the most amazing infrastructures built for the Expo in 1992.

If you are unfamiliar with Sevilla, below are directions on how to get to #EBE11.

From NH Plaza de Armas to Pabellón del Futuro (EBE11 Venue)

NH Plaza de Armas is one of the hotels with discount for attendees to EBE. To purchase discounted room, you should contact “Viajes El Corte Inglés” travel agency and say that you are coming to EBE: sevillacultura [at] viajeseci [dot] es / 0034 954 50 66 10 (Lola Trujillo).

New Features in EBE11

1. We are moving to the Pabellón del futuro (Isla de la Cartuja, Sevilla).
2. EBE11 will be held in Nov, 11th, 12th and 13th. We are still growing: 3,000 people.
3. Talent Area. Connecting work and talent (supply and demand) in 5-7 minutes long
   meetings where new opportunities and enterprising may be born. These meetings are
   based on a new format: “speed dating”.
4. Have dinner with sector professionals…
5. Close connection to Seville. EBE11 opens up to Seville, the city will be much more
   involved in our annual meeting.
6. Closed-circuit television in order to connect all rooms and those attendants have a
   general view of what happens in every room.
7. Higher level and number of leisure activities with a greater impact, such as ice-skating
   and a large paella.
8. “Genius Bar”-style specialised workshops, where those interested may ask their doubts
   and talk about their opinions on several tools.
9. Live broadcasting of national programming collaborator media.
10. EBE in English. In our agenda, there will be a large number of conferences and
    speeches in English, and we will have a new guest country.
